RED SEA 2010 We finally decided for this year's trip to go to the Breakers Diving Lodge / Soma Bay (Egypt). The dives we'll be done with Orca Diving. Soma Bay is ideally located to dive the sites of the South of Hurghada and of Safaga (Panorama reef, Salem Express). There is also a beautiful house reef just in front of the hotel. Overseas visitors Martha & Cheryl from DeLand, Florida relax between dives on Empuriabrava's beaches with Marieta & Philippe . Their visit was for them the opportunity to dive the Med for the first time and to discover a few of the Costa de Montgri caves. We also had the visit of Tim, Louise and Edward from England. The diving trip to Empuriabrava has become a tradition for the family and it is the second year in a row that we have the pleasure to greet them at the club. This year we put together a special programme with several 3 dives boat trips on the Cap de Creus, the caves in l'Escala and a night dive.. |

Wreck Diving Between the 7th and the 15th of August, me managed to dive 5 different Costa Brava shipwrecks: The Llanishen (15 meters deep), The Melchuca (13 meters), the Avvenire (42 meters), the Boreas (30 meters) and the Reggio Messina (32 meters). An opportunity for Conrad to get his PADI wreck diver specialty. |

Activities month of August We will be open full time with daily activities from August 4th to 22nd. We will have trips out of Empuriabrava or Santa Margarida at least 3 times a week and day trips to many different Costa Brava destinations: Cadaquès, Costa de Montgri, Medas islands, Palamos... The programme will include theme trips like our "costa de Montgri caves" (August 8th) or the wreck trips (Melchuca, Avvenire, Reggio Messina, Boreas etc...) which will be organized all over the month. We will also run specialty courses (Peal Performance Buoyancy, Wreck diver, Underwater navigation, Deep diver, Nitrox...) Check our calendar page and write or call for info or reservations |

3 octopi released Dominik, Pat & Carole are leaving Santa Margarida on Delphinus binae's boat and are heading to Cabo Norfeu for a dive on the pared del bisbe. Diving the Vetas cave Hugues and Pat are impressed by the sight of fantastic mineral forms inside the Vetas cave (Montgri coast).This is one of our favorite dives, a system of several caves inside some of which the diver can surface. We'll surely organize the trip again sometime this summer so check out our calendar regularly. It is not to be missed!... |

The temperature of the water is improving The beginning of the season was a bit complicated this year with all the bad weather we had, but now the water is getting warmer and we reached 18º C last week-end. And the visibility is improving as well! We have done nice dives lately and for next Sunday (13/06/2010) we have organized a trip to the famous cueva de las vetas, one of the most spectacular dives with a big and magnificent cave (also called "the cathedral") in which divers can surface. We'll leave empuriabrava at 8:00 a.m so put yourself on the list. |

Finally Gregor went into the water. Gregor is celebrating his birthday in the Xinxa with Carole, Pat & kids. Now we are expecting him o convert his Discover Scuba into an Open Water course... and also to convince his wife TIna to to join him. |

Seen a sun fish On the Costa de Mongri, while diving with Mateua Dive, We've seen a sun fish (mola mola). This fantastic creature can be seen mainly this time of the year, so come out and dive! |

Big turnout for the opening night. The dive club was the place to be on Friday night in Empuriabrava. Around 70 beautiful people showed up for the opening night. Look at more pictures on our inauguration page. |

New Subacqua jackets. The club acquired 10 brand new Jackets dive 840 from Subacqua. with the 12 new pair of fins and 18 new pair of boots that were delivered a couple months ago, we are now all set for the season. Our students / members deserve the best. |

Inauguration of the new club premises. The date of the inauguration of the club will be friday May 28th, 6:00 pm. Make a note in your diaries. |

Licenced to operate as a dive center! The end of 13 months of administrative procedures! On March 30th we were officially approved by the Generalitat de Catalunya, Department of Agriculture and henceforth appear on the list of the non-profit dive centres authorized for teaching. This authorization will allow us to open the dive school in the next future. |

Registered as a sport club! We have finally appeared under Nr. 14289 on the register of the sports associations of the Generalitat of Catalunya. The administrative process lasted not far from one year. This registration will now allow us to move on to the next step which is to apply with the proper authorities for a dive center license to be allowed to teach dive courses. |

Renovation of the premises. The refurbishment is coming to an end. We spent most of our week-ends this winter renovating the premises which we rent in Nr 12, sector aeroclub. We now have a bathroom, a tub for rinsing equipment, an area for drying and storing it and the nicest classroom in the region! Once obtained all the authorizations necessary for our activity we shall organize the official inauguration. |

Scuba Medic Insurances In Spain it is compulsory for every diver to have an individual insurance. Our club is now accredited to sell the Scuba Medic (Lloyds) insurances. The cards of the "credit card" format bear the logo of our club. The annual insurance is sold 35€. |

Buceo en Costa Brava For the year 2010, the club will offer to every member an individual card " Buceo in Costa Brava " which gives the holder preferential conditions in 6 dive centres of the Costa Brava, including a 23 € rate for a dive. |
